Wales’ leading independent hospital, HMT Sancta Maria, has today (30/07/14) announced plans to build a state of the art hospital in South Wales, scheduled to open its doors in 2017.
The Healthcare Management Trust who own and operate Sancta Maria Hospital confirmed it has identified a preferred site close to Swansea for the purpose built hospital, which will enhance the range of clinical services available to the local population and allow Sancta Maria Hospital to continue delivering high class healthcare.
Moving to brand new, purpose built facilities will ensure the hospital continues to provide a full range of medical services and maintain its position as a leading independent hospital, whilst creating employment opportunities in the region.
The Chief Executive of Healthcare Management Trust, Tony Barrett, said:

Moving to a purpose built healthcare facility will ensure Sancta Maria Hospital continues to lead the way in providing high class medical care and treatment whilst maintaining its position as one of Wales’ best performing hospitals..
“Of course, in the meantime, we will continue to deliver the highest level of care at our Swansea site which is currently being modernised until the relocation takes place in 2017.”
