Dr Faiz Shivji joined HMT in December 2024. His experience includes working as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co., where he specialised in healthcare, life sciences, private equity commercial and R&D strategy, operational transformatio, and commercial due diligence.

He also served as the UK Oncology Medical Affairs Manager at MSD UK and worked as a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon within the NHS. He also holds an MBA from the London Business School.

Dr. Faiz Shivji wanted to join HMT as a trustee because he believes that private providers are well-positioned to meet the growing needs of the population and support the NHS. His background as a former NHS surgeon gives him a deep understanding of the changing dynamics and pressures on the healthcare service, especially in the post-Covid era.

In his free time, Dr. Shivji enjoys listening to audiobooks, going to the gym regularly, and playing with his young son.
