We're looking for a Customer Services Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in supporting patients, consultants and colleagues throughout the inpatient and surgical booking journey.

As one of the first points of contact, you'll provide a professional, compassionate and efficient service, ensuring every patient receives an outstanding experience from their initial enquiry through to their admission.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Customer Services Assistant, you will:

  • Create and manage inpatient and surgical bookings using our Patient Administration System (PAS).
  • Deliver high-quality customer service through clear, accurate and compassionate communication.
  • Respond to patient enquiries promptly, professionally and courteously.
  • Work closely with consultants and their secretaries to coordinate schedules and ensure diary commitments are effectively managed.
  • Liaise with clinical and non-clinical teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date theatre schedules.
  • Monitor patient pathways, ensuring all departments review patients within required timescales and following up where necessary.
  • Process patient payments accurately and efficiently when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Is organised, accurate and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Can build positive relationships with patients, consultants and colleagues.
  • Has strong administrative and IT skills.
  • Is confident handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Remains calm and professional in a busy environment.
  • Previous healthcare administration, medical bookings or patient services experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
