HMT Hospitals – Giant Junior Cycling Team take first international win at Nokere Koerse
Alex Haines took the first international win in 2019 by a HMT Hospitals – Giant Junior Cycling Team rider with a win at Nokere Koerse.
Representing the British Cycling South East Region, Alex won ahead of Irish rider Finley Newmark and Belgian Milan Fretin.
Speaking to cyclingsite.be after the race, Alex said:
“It was a really hard race and the course and the winds made it even harder. I went off the front towards the end and eventually became in a group of 5 riders. We worked really well together and took the break all the way to the finish. At the bottom of the Nokereberg I knew I was in with a good chance of winning but I’m still super surprised and really happy to have won.”
