Trustee Week 2023 – An Insight Into Our Chair, Dylan Jones
Dylan Jones has been a Trustee of The Healthcare Management Trust since 2013. For 25 years he served as CEO for large quoted and privately-owned companies including Staples, Northgate Vehicle Hire and Selecta Vending. For Trustee Week, we caught up with Dylan to learn more about his motivations, the aspects he values most about HMT’s work, and the insights he has gained along the way.
What motivated you to become a trustee at The Healthcare Management Trust?
“I was motivated by the possibility of helping a very worthwhile charity to develop, grow and therefore influence many more patients and their families and friends in a positive way.”
What aspect of The Healthcare Management Trust work do you most value and respect?
“I most value and respect that all elements within HMT put patient care and well-being at the centre of all of their thoughts and actions.”
What have you personally learnt during your time as a trustee for The Healthcare Management Trust?
“I have learnt that listening – to patients, to medical professionals, and to all of our other staff is immensely important in providing the right insights and direction for our efforts.”
Why do you think others should consider becoming trustees of charities?
“As a Trustee, one can bring all of one’s personal experiences and skills to bear in a way that has a direct positive impact on the lives of many beneficiaries.”
